Mentoring Program

empowHER was formed in 2019 by a group of women in the trades who wanted to offer programming to expand the number of females in construction in a supportive and solutions-oriented manner.

To succeed and continue our organization’s goals, we intend to build a support system for female tradeswomen throughout Wisconsin. Our clear message will be, “if you see it, you can be it,” and to show other tradeswomen that they are not alone on their pathway in the construction industry.

The need to provide support for women in the construction industry remains clear as growth has happened but not at the pace or scale needed. Recent figures show only 3% of Registered Apprentices in Wisconsin are women, and the need for new talent for the work coming online is at an all-time high.
